GROUP FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

AB BLAST!
Abs, Abs, and more abs!

AQUAFIT
Using the resistance of the water and a variety of moves, improve your cardiovascular and muscular endurance, in a safe environment. This class is ideal for those who want to work out while minimizing risks of injury. Ideal for seniors and people with joint problems!

ASHTANGA YOGA
This class uses Yoga poses and breathing techniques designed to improve flexibility, balance, muscular endurance and strength. Yoga mats are available, but you are welcome to bring your own.

AWESOME ABS & ARMS
This class mixes upper body workouts with great ab movements to strengthen the core and the arms also improve endurance. It is designed for all fitness levels.

BALLET BAR BLITZ
This class is a total body workout using Balletbars, Benderballs and handheld weights and
includes a 15-minute cardio warm-up. Intermediate.
 
BENDERBALL™ CORE
This is a great class using the Bender method on a small soft ball. If you need to strengthen your abs, back and hips, this class is the solution. It also includes 15 minutes of cardio conditioning using the ball.
 
BENDERBALL™ BODY
Using the Bender method and a small soft ball this class with tone and tighten all your major muscle groups. You will also use tubing and gliders for a highly effective total body workout.

BODY BLAST
Time to wake up those muscles with this great workout, which uses a variety of different equipment to help tone and tighten you up all over! You will use BOSUs, weights and bars in this class.
 
BOSU CIRCUIT
This mixed cardio and muscular conditioning class is made up of a variety of circuits that could include Step, Rebound or the BOSU (half ball) athletic movements, and muscular conditioning exercises using a variety of resistance equipment (bars, weights, tubes).
 
CARDIO BOSU
This class is a great cardio workout using the latest trend in fitness, the BOSU boards. Muscular conditioning exercises on the BOSU and using weights are included.
 
CARDIO KICK-BOX
This is a great cardio workout using boxing and kick boxing techniques and movements to help melt off the fat.

CARDIO SCULPT
This 45-minute cardio and muscle toning class is done in interval format to help you get a complete workout. Intermediate-Advanced.

CIRCUIT BOOTCAMP
This class is a mix of cardio drills and exercises using hand held weights or body bars. You may also use Steps and or BOSUs to help you get stronger and burn lots of fat!

CLASSICAL STRETCH™
Based on the Miranda Esmonde-White  technique, star of the “Classical Stretch” program on PBS,  this is  a terrific stretching  and muscle toning program. This class will help you develop flexibility, balance, coordination and strength. Great for all levels!

DYNAMIC STRETCH
This class will stretch out all those tight muscles by moving through large ranges of motion
and challenging those muscles to help increase your flexibility. Beginner/Intermediate.

PILATES
This class is a unique and highly effective stretch and strength class involving exercises evolved from the original works of Joseph Pilates. Perfect for strengthening the abdominals and back.

POWER PUMP
Tone your body from top to bottom in this fun, functional strength training class.  The class is unique because you train multiple muscle groups all at the same time. Perfect for all levels as you will be shown different levels for all the exercises.

POWER YOGA
Based on the Ashtanga style Yoga and the Brian Kest method of Yoga this class is perfect for the Yoga participant who loves a Callenge. This class will increase your flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, as well as your balance.
 
SUPER CARDIO MIX
This class is perfect for people who love something new each week. The instructor will do either Cardio Boxing, Cardio Ball, Hi-Lo aerobics, BOSU Circuit, or Bootcamp style classes. Each week it will be one of the five styles listed. This is a fast paced and dynamic class for people who love a challenge.
 
TOTAL BODY SCULPT
This is a great class that is slower paced but includes exercises using hand held weights, body bars and various equipment to help tone and tighten up all your muscles. Some classes may include a small amount of cardio exercises. Great for all levels!

TOTAL CARDIO BURN
This is a fast paced and very dynamic workout for intermediate to advanced level participants. It is a combination of 15 minutes of  Hi-Lo  aerobics , 15 minutes of Basic Step training  and   10 mins of Cardio boxing to help you maximize your cardio endurance. Abdominal conditioning included.

TOTAL STRETCH
This is a dancer's style stretch class that will both stretch and strengthen the muscles to increase flexibility and endurance. Beginner/Intermediate.

VINYASA FLOW YOGA
With a rhythmic and energetic approach to Yoga, this class emphasizes on creating dynamic sequences of postures and linking these “flows” with the breath; integrates self-awareness, alignment and creates a unique balance of strength and flexibility.

YOGA
Hatha style Yoga for the early bird participant. This class will help increase your flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance and balance.
 
YOGA FOR BEGINNERS
Hatha style Yoga that is perfect for the beginner level participant. Focus on breath and alignment will be emphasized. You will gain strength, balance and flexibility with the class.

SPINNING CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Note: On our class schedule all spinning class titles end with a 2-digit numeric designation which represents the class length. For example Endurance 90 means that the class runs 90 minutes; Intervals 45 means that the class runs 45 minutes; and so on.
 
ADRENALINE RIDE
This ride is designed to stimulate the heart-rate in a ride that is unpredictable and ever-changing and causing you to increase physical performance for short bursts of time. It doesn’t matter what your fitness level, this class will have you running on adrenaline. 
 
ALL-TERRAIN SPINNING
In this traditional stationary cycling class, you will experience a variety of cycling situations including hill climbs, fast flats and exhilarating finishes while focusing on speed, power, intensity and technique. This class is geared to all fitness levels; the instructor simultaneously coaches to all levels.
 
CARDIO RIDE
This indoor cycling class is about working with the music as you hit fast sprints and slow climbs. It’s aerobic, great fun and guaranteed to make you sweat and unlike our other classes, the music is right out of Billboard’s Hot 100.
 
ENDURANCE RIDE
Longer than our standard rides, this workout will push your endurance limits! You will conquer various terrains including hill climbs and fast flats working with RPMs (rotations per minute), watts, and gears to push you for as long as you can go. The instructor simultaneously coaches to all levels.
 
EXECUTIVE RIDE
Designed for the busy executive who is looking for a complete cardio workout in exactly 45 minutes, this class emphasizes progressive challenges that build in intensity. It’s a complete cardio workout to get you ready for your workday.

INTERVALS
If you want to improve your training by using extensive and intensive endurance, threshold levels, anaerobic endurance, strength, power and speed, then this is the class for you. Taught as a series of high intensity work that alternates with periods of rest or low activity, this is one of our most popular rides.
 
INTRODUCTION TO SPINNING
The class is perfect for the first time spinner who would like a gentle introduction to indoor cycling. The class size is smaller and the instruction more one-on-one than our regular classes. The goal is to get you comfortable enough that you’ll either come back again for another session or you will try one of our other formats.
 
MOUNTAIN CLIMB
In this ride, the focus is on challenging your climbing muscles with a workout specifically designed to mimic a long climb (or “mountain climb”) on a bike. In this workout, you continuously climb until you hit the top.
 
RACE DAY
On your mark, get set, GO! In this class, riders come in and test themselves against their personal goals and against each other. Lead by an instructor who races competitively on a road bike, this ride is the closest you’ll get to simulating being on the race track.

SPIN/ABS
This workout is a combination class incorporating indoor cycling, abdominal exercises and flexibility/relaxation work. It offers a 60-minute intensive spin class on the bike in Studio 3 followed by 20 minutes of abdominal/core work, and 10 minutes of stretching in the Jukari Studio.
